Cozy Yellow Stripe Blanket

An airy blanket – neutral colors, crocheted in acrylic so it’s warm and soft on skin.

Yarn: Loops & Threads Snuggly Wuggly, 100% acrylic, 3 different colors

1 skein (5 oz. / 141 g, 446 yd. / 408 m) Dove Grey

1 skein (5 oz. / 141 g, 446 yd. / 408 m) Soft Grey

2 skein (5 oz. / 141 g, 446 yd. / 408 m) Soft Yellow

Aunt’s Lydia White Mercerized cotton – crochet string size 10, almost 100 yds

Crochet Hook: 6.5 mm for the blanket, 5 mm for the border

Pattern: half double crochet throughout. Use the cotton string mixed with the main color to add interest – can be in the yellow for a more discreet look or in the greys.

Size: you can make it as long and wide as you want, mine uses 20 hdc rows for every color and is about 1.50 m long and 1 m wide. The border is about 6 cm.

Update: Since publishing this post, this blanket has been gifted to the beautiful 11 year old, Miya.

Round ottoman pillow

Round ottoman pillow

An easy to do round ottoman pillow, soft and with a modern look.

Yarn: Loops & Threads Woolike Chunky, Bulky 5, 1 1/2 skeins of 94 yds/86 m

Needle: N/15 – 10.00 mm

Measurements: 40 cm/19′

Pattern: based on Create Crochet’s pattern which I’ve adjusted for the size of the ottoman pillow that I had and made two identical pieces which I then sewed together.

Note: the yarn that I’ve used is stretchy; if you’re using the same kind of yarn measure your work frequently and stretch it over the actual pillow to see how it looks like. I liked seeing the white pillow under so I’ve made a smaller case than the actual pillow size.
